Bag makeover ...

Over the last few years I've been searching for a bag that I could use to carry my tool box and all the other stuff I have to drag to and from the studio every day. After lots of broken straps I finally found a wicker supermarket shopper bag that was sturdy enough to hold everything and most importantly made carrying everything that little bit easier!

The only problem I had with it was that being a supermarket bag it wasn't  the most prettiest bag to be carrying around all day and left me feeling like a walking advertisement board. So to solve this I decided to get some fabric and cover the front and back panels of the bag using my little sewing machine. I'm really pleased with how it turned out!

Every end is a new beginning ...

I'm done .... my college course that is!

After three years of studying I have finally got my HND in Jewellery design and I am so happy about it! These last three years have been filled with sketchbooks, designing, making, some tears, lots of solder and some fun times and I have learned sooo much from it. To celebrate the end of our final year we had a lovely exhibition at the college where we got to show off all our hard work - and drink some wine!

Every end is a new beginning and as scary as it is no longer being a student I am now very excited to be working on new pieces which I will have on sale on etsy very soon!

A little trip

Went a little trip to Edinburgh at the weekend and had a great time! Went to Bruntsfield and Morningside and stumbled across some lovely little boutiques, vintage shops, charity shops, jewellery shops and even a makers market! Was nice to see a side of the city I had never seen before! Afterwards I headed back into the city and wandered through the German market under the Christmas lights and I even got to see Santa! Was a great day in a lovely city.

Playing with wire

One of my favourite materials to work with when making jewellery is wire. Here is two rings I recently made using silver wire. The first is a more structured piece with a Hematite cabochon. The second is a tube setting in wire with a Aquamarine faceted stone. Both rings have been oxidised to give a darker colour to the silver.

Loving

A few designers I've recently stumbled across that I love ...
